Center for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption in partnership with the European Union Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine Border (EUBAM) held during July 25 to August 1, 2010 first edition of the International Summer School "Youth Against Corruption”.
The event aims to promote and encourage initiatives and active spirit of young people in public life, familiarizing participants with the concept of corruption act, increasing the level of legal culture among youth in Moldova and Ukraine. For participation in the work of international summer school were invited higher education students. After the competition were selected a team of 26 participating - 12 from Ukraine and 14 from Moldova. Training will be held at Vadul-lui-Voda and will include an agenda of topics such as:
1. Appearance of corruption
2. The concept of corruption in international conventions, national legislation of Moldova and Ukraine
3. Corruption and corruption behavior
4. Special subjects of corruption or who can give / receive bribes
5. Ethics and civil servants behavior
6. Methods of prevention of corruption
7. Detection and investigation of corruption
It is also scheduled a visit at the Centre for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption. On July 28th students will visit the crossing point of the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border Tudora - Starocazacia, where the participants will make a "survey" among those crossing the border. Basic questions will be whether they are satisfied with the border services and if not how they see the improvement.
“Money for knowledge or knowledge for money "is the theme of the game which will involve in roles both participants and organizers of the Summer School. During the game will be discussed various situations relating to acts of corruption in education - kindergarten, school, university. The game aims to raise the awareness of the consequences of corruption in education for society as a whole and separately for each individual.
On the last day of school participants will work on applying knowledge in practical sessions. Students will be divided into 4-6 groups and they will make a 30 minute presentation on topic "Life without corruption in my university”. These presentations will be appreciated as school graduation exam. The jury will be represented by three graduates of the Summer School "Youth against Corruption” 2008 edition.
Working language will be Russian. The Summer School activities will be guided by national and international experts, prosecutors, criminal investigation officers, etc.
