North Territorial General Department

The General Territorial Department of Balti is a territorial structural subdivision of the Center for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption specialized in the combating of economic crimes and corruption and authorized to perform operative investigation activity, criminal prosecution, controls and inspections, as well as to perform investigations on the cases of administrative and fiscal infringements. The Department is headed by the lieutenant-colonel Mr. Iurie Vlas.

According to the organizational chart, the Department serves 13 districts in the Northern region of the country: Briceni, Ocnita, Dondiuseni, Edinet, Soroca, Drochia, Riscani,  Glodeni, Falesti, Singerei, Floresti, Soldanesti, Rezina and the Balti municipality.

Owing to the high professionalism of the officers, the General Territorial Department of Balti has achieved considerable results in the prevention, detection, investigation and liquidation of economic-financial and fiscal infringements and of corruption facts based on the operative investigations performed.

Among the multiple corruption infringements with high social resonance discovered by the officers of the Department one may mention and liquidation of a fraudulent scheme of fiscal evasion in an amount of around half a million lei by forgery of strict accounting documents at one of the capital’s print houses.
