Control and Inspection Department
The General Department for control and inspection was founded based on the Centers Department for Financial Control and Inspection.
In the responsibility of the Department are: detection and eradication of economic, financial and fiscal infringements and violations; performance of economic-financial and fiscal inspections; application of sanctions as provided by the law; exercise of fiscal authorities, including the authority to calculate fiscal obligations and recover them in the way of enforcement, as set out in the fiscal legislation.
From the moment of creation the Department has performed 5789 inspections and controls, the documented damages amounting in total to over 1082,4 million lei, the calculated fiscal obligations, penalties and financial sanctions being valued at 1044 million lei.
The dynamics of the activity of the inspection and control Department is characterized by the growth of average sums of fiscal obligations calculated under each separate control, from 27,9 thousand lei in 2002 up to 191,8 thousand lei – in 2003, 183,0 thousand lei – in 2004, 218,7 thousand lei – in 2005 and 228,1 in 2006. The value of documented damages under each separate control has grown from 540,0 thousand lei in 2002 up to 1166,8 thousand lei in 2006.
During the period of activity the officers have caused a collection to the state budget of around 111,3 million lei of taxes, duties, penalties and sanctions, the total damages recovered being valued at over 22 million lei.
